Many older Australians — and their families — are rightly cautious about health apps that store sensitive information or share it with third parties. MediRemind stores medication information on your phone. There are no advertisements in the app and medication data is not shared with third parties.
The app also works without an internet connection. Saved medication details and prescription information are accessible anywhere — in a regional town, at a hospital, or wherever you need them.

Yes. Create a separate profile for Mum or Dad on your phone and receive reminders to help you manage their medications, scripts and repeats. You do not need to install anything on their phone.
My mother takes 8 different medications. Can the app handle that?
Yes. You can add multiple medications to each profile and give each medication its own reminder schedule — morning tablets separate from evening tablets, weekly medications separate from daily ones.
What if she takes her medications at different times throughout the day?
Each medication gets its own independent reminder schedule. A morning blood pressure tablet, a lunchtime antibiotic, and an evening sleeping tablet can all be tracked and reminded separately.
Is the app suitable for someone who isn't tech-savvy?
MediRemind Scripts is designed to be straightforward. The reminders arrive as phone notifications. For elderly users who prefer not to use an app themselves, a family member can manage the profile on their behalf.
How does it handle PBS prescriptions and repeats?
You can scan eScript QR codes directly into MediRemind, or photograph a paper prescription for your own reference. The app records how many repeats are left and can alert you when supplies are getting low — giving you time to arrange a new prescription before running out.
Do reminders repeat until acknowledged?
MediRemind sends follow-up alerts until the reminder is acknowledged, subject to the phone's notification settings. If notifications are disabled, the phone is on silent, or battery optimisation is active, reminders may not arrive as expected.
